Water level regulation in lower saxon moor surfaces

In order to use the peatland as grassland in the long term and at the same time to reduce the CO² emissions, a continuous humidification of the soil is required.

For this purpose, two test areas for solar pumps and the necessary PV power supplies were installed in 2017 by SolarKonzept GmbH Berlin.

The solar modules were mounted on the mounting frame TRIC flex one by Wagner Solar. Given the particular nature of the peat soil, the TRIC flex one frame was the optimal decision, as required for the anchoring of the soil no much, no sealing of the area of the concrete. In the months from March to October, the solar pumps pump between 30 and 60 m³ of water per day and irrigate the test areas to be examined through so-called underfloor irrigation
